Privacy Policy

Pengoe is a family chore and pocket money tracking app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.

1. Who we are

Pengoe is developed and operated by Gellert Vinnai, an individual developer.

2. Data we collect

Account information — your name and email address when you register.
Family data — family name, parent and child display names, and member roles you set up inside the app.
Chore & task data — task names, completion records, fees, and reimbursement history you create in the app.
Push notification tokens — your device's FCM token so we can deliver in-app notifications (e.g. when a chore is completed or a payment is made). Tokens are deleted automatically when they become invalid or when you sign out.

We do not collect location data, payment card details, or any advertising identifiers.

3. How we use your data

To operate the app and sync data across your family's devices.
To send push notifications about chore completions and payments within your family.
To verify your email address when you register.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (US-based infrastructure). Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

5. Third-party services

Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — used solely to deliver push notifications. Device tokens are stored on our server and sent to FCM. Google's privacy policy applies to this service.
Resend — used to send transactional emails (registration verification, invitations). Only your email address is shared.

6. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at gellert.vinnai@gmail.com and we will process the request within 30 days.

7. Children's privacy

The app is designed for use by families and may involve child accounts created by a parent or guardian. Child accounts store only a display name (no email address). Parents are responsible for their children's use of the app.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing gellert.vinnai@gmail.com.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
